Refund & Cancellation Policy
Straightforward terms: a 7-day window, clearly stated conditions, and no fine print designed to trap you.
1. The short version
We want you in a course because it's right for you — not because you can't get out. So the rule is simple:

Refunds are processed within 7–10 business days to your original payment method.
2. When you are eligible for a full refund
You qualify for a 100% refund of the fee paid if all of the following are true:
- You request the refund within 7 calendar days of your payment date; and
- You have attended 2 or fewer live sessions of the course; and
- You have not downloaded, distributed or otherwise misused course materials.
You do not need to justify your decision. "It isn't what I expected" is a complete reason.
2.1 Refunds regardless of the window
You are entitled to a full refund at any time if:
- We cancel the cohort — for example if the minimum enrolment isn't met;
- We reschedule the cohort to dates or timings that don't work for you (you may choose a transfer instead);
- We fail to deliver the course substantially as described on the course page;
- You were charged in error — duplicate payment, or a payment for a course you did not purchase.
3. When a refund is not available
To be fair to mentors and other learners, refunds are not available where:
- More than 7 days have passed since payment;
- You have attended more than 2 live sessions;
- You have completed the course or been issued a certificate;
- You have downloaded, recorded, shared or redistributed course content in breach of our Terms;
- Your account was suspended or terminated for misconduct or breach of the Terms;
- You simply stopped attending without requesting a refund within the window;
- The request relates to a free item, promotional credit or scholarship seat where no fee was paid.
Note on recordings: access to recordings does not extend the refund window. The window runs from your payment date regardless of when you watch.
4. How to request a refund
There is no form to hunt for and no retention call. Just write to us:
- Email info@hackgru.com from the email address registered to your account.
- Use the subject line: Refund request — [Course name].
- Include your registered name, the course, your payment/order ID, and (optionally) your reason.
What happens next:
- We acknowledge your request within 24–48 hours.
- We verify eligibility against your payment date and attendance record.
- If eligible, we initiate the refund and confirm by email.
- If not eligible, we explain exactly why, and offer a cohort transfer where possible.
5. Cohort transfer (an alternative to a refund)
Life happens — exams, illness, a job. If you can't continue but the course is still right for you, you may transfer once, free of charge, to the next available cohort of the same course, provided:
- You request the transfer before the cohort ends; and
- You have not already transferred that enrolment.
A second transfer, or a transfer to a different course, is at our discretion and may involve a fee difference. Email info@hackgru.com to request one.
6. Refund processing and timelines

- Refunds are always issued to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card, UPI ID or account.
- The final credit timeline depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control.
- Refunds are made in Indian Rupees (INR). We are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or bank charges on international cards.
- We do not deduct any processing or administrative fee from an eligible refund. You receive the full amount you paid.
7. Cancellation by you
7.1 Before the cohort starts
You may cancel any time before your cohort's first session for a full refund, regardless of the 7-day window.
7.2 After the cohort starts
Cancellation is treated as a refund request and is subject to sections 2 and 3. You may cancel your enrolment at any time — cancelling stops future communication, but only qualifies for money back if you meet the refund conditions.
7.3 Account deletion
Deleting your account does not automatically trigger a refund. Request the refund first, then the deletion.
8. Cancellation by us
We may cancel or reschedule a cohort where:
- The minimum number of enrolments is not reached;
- A mentor is unavailable and no suitable replacement can be arranged;
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent delivery (force majeure).
In every such case we will notify you as early as possible and offer you the choice of a full refund or a free transfer to the next cohort. Individual sessions that are rescheduled with a replacement session or recording do not constitute a cancellation.
9. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first — we resolve genuine issues quickly and without argument. Raising a chargeback with your bank before contacting us may result in suspension of your account access while the dispute is investigated. We will provide the payment gateway with our records, including attendance logs, in response to any dispute.
